How to Upgrade Your Skincare Routine At Home According To A Pro

As a former professional makeup artist and now Vice President of Darya Hope, I always get asked how to take skincare to the next level. Firstly, I am a massive advocate of facial massage. I have been massaging my face ever since I was 19 and worked for Estée Lauder, and learned my first eye massage technique. Every morning when I wake up after drinking a big glass of water and preparing my coffee, the first thing I do is roll my face with Joanna Czech's facial roller. Usually, my face is oily enough after a night of sleep to roll without any oil. However, if you feel dry, I recommend using our Sea Oak Oil Cleanser on dry skin and rolling your face out before washing it in the morning. The oil cleanser doubles as a great facial massage oil and contains Evening Primrose Oil to enhance the texture and elasticity of the skin and reduce inflammation, irritation, and fine lines.

My second at-home treatment that I try to do every day is my LED light mask. I use the Celluma Pro, which is an investment but maximizes light therapy potential more than any other device on the market, and trust me, I have tried them all! Many other LED light options are available if you can't or don't want to splurge. LED light is non-invasive and very healing. I usually like to have my daily shower, put on my Youth Elixir Stem Cell Serum, and go under the light for 20 minutes. I always do guided meditations while using my Celluma Pro to help calm my mind and pass the time. Red light therapy is great for mental health when paired with meditation. It is also known to reduce fine lines and wrinkles, and it can penetrate deep into your skin and stimulate your mitochondria to start healing. This, paired with the Youth Elixir Stem Cell Serum, is my now not-so-secret sauce. I recently challenged myself to do this every day for 30 days, and my skin is glowing, and my anxiety has also greatly improved!

When I have a special event or a big meeting and want extra confidence in my skin, I will always pull out my ZIIP. The ZIIP uses both nano current and microcurrent to tone, define, lift and contour the skin. To begin, I always wash my face with the Sea Fennel Gel Cleanser and then apply the ZIIP silver gel. The silver gel is excellent for acne-prone skin like mine, and the gold gel is more anti-aging-focused. I then do as many treatments on the app as I want until I feel lifted and sculpted. After I'm done, I notice immediate results, which always gives me a confidence boost. With the silver gel, you need to wash it off, so I then go back in with my Sea Fennel Gel Cleanser, and sometimes I even do the Volcanic Mineral Face Polish to create the perfect canvas for my makeup application. If you haven't tried microcurrent, you are missing out! I love that I can do this treatment at home, and there is no downtime afterward.

The last treatment I do at home is micro-needling. I love professional PRP micro-needling, but in-between office visits, I do an at-home version with Georgia Louise's tool once a week, in the evening, before bed. Micro-needling makes tiny channels in the skin, and your body responds by stimulating new collagen production to heal the skin quickly. This treatment is excellent for acne scars and fine lines, and I also notice an overall lifted look when doing it once a week. Make sure you thoroughly clean your skin beforehand and disinfect the micro-needling device as directed in the device instructions. I recommend doing the complete Triple Cleanse Facial System to ensure no dirt or makeup remains on the skin. We didn't design Youth Elixir Stem Cell Serum to be used for micro-needling, and it doesn't have a lot of slip, but if you tackle the skin in small sections, it's an unbeatable combination. You'll experience redness once completing this routine, but it dissipates overnight, and when you wake up in the morning, you will be glowing! Thank me later!
